Venus Index Circuits Review - or How to Win The Venus Index Open Contest

Get the Venus Index Circuits, the program I used to win the Venus Index contest!

I’ve already shared how Venus Index is the workout program that makes my heart go pitter-patter and whittled my waist to an actual feminine size once again. Before I came across this program, I was using Turbulence Training.

This is how far I got with Turbulence Training:

After that, try as I might, I could not make any further progress. I finished that contest in August and started Venus the following January, at which time progress took off again at a blistering pace!

Here’s where I was able to take it to with the Venus systems:

So what I’m gonna say now may come as a bit of a shock.

I did not use the original Venus Index program to win the contest. When I talk about how the Venus Index program is the piece that finally allowed me to make progress and maintain, I am speaking of a whole system. This is not just some program you grab and do for 3 months. It’s a process of reeducation that will set you up for a lifetime of success.

Any of the Venus Index programs will help you get to your ideal proportions. I chose to use the Venus Index Circuits for my contest winning program.

I chose to do circuits because they were most like the style of workout I was already accustomed to doing and also because it had options for both 3 and 4 days a week while the original Venus program was designed to be done just 3 days a week. As an advanced athlete, I wanted to take it to the next level: Elite, and more was just what I needed to get on the fast track to success!

What are the Venus Index Circuits?

Simply put, the circuits are a brutal challenging workout that you put together to suit your needs. There are four different levels of modules and 6 suggested programs to give you an idea how to get going. These programs are 3 or 4 days a week and run for 4 months. Each module has a choice of a Level 1, 2 or 3 workout. The Level 1 workouts include fewer combination movements while the Level 3 workouts include more advanced and complicated lifts.

The beauty of Venus Circuits is that each workout stands alone so you can use it as its own program or as standalone workouts. For example, you could do the original Venus Index Program 2-3 days a week and do 1-2 circuits a week. In fact, the incredible beauty of all the Venus systems is they are designed as modules that you can move around.

Here’s how the circuits look. Each workout is broken up into 4 mini circuits, each of which is comprised of 3 exercises done back to back to back with a 60 second rest. You complete each circuit 4 times before moving on to the next circuit.

Running short of time or just really dragging? It’s possible to drop down the number of times you run through each circuit and still get a totally kick ass workout! See how cool that is? Mostly, I completed all 4 workouts each week exactly as written, but on occasion, I did drop down to 3 sets of each circuit. This brought the workout in at just under an hour. The full workout is about an hour and 20 minutes of non-stop sweating!

For the first 6 weeks of the contest, I couldn’t really imagine doing much additional work besides the odd Zumba class or a walk.  At the halfway point I stepped up my conditioning by adding in a few more things including running stadiums, pullup practice at home, and a sports conditioning class, plus I continued with walking, Zumba and stadiums. I also finished off the contest with 2 full weeks of specializations, which I’ll talk more about in another post.

Did I need to do all that work? Perhaps not, but I did place first so I’m glad I did and it was fun at the time. However, my shoulders bothered me for many months so I would not do anything so drastic again!

Any of the programs will get you to your Venus Index; the Venus Index Circuits is just the one I happened to choose. Let me know which one you will use and what your contest winning strategy is!

By the way, what’s stopping you? The next contest starts Monday, January 16th. Get in there, transform, and win some  money! You have everything to gain! I will be coaching a number of  private clients so feel free to join Naomi Rules for additional support and guidance.
